Dudes, if you live in the Los Angeles area, we are hosting an éS Game of SKATE at Val Surf on Go Skateboarding Day. Not Go Surfing Day, but GO SKATEBOARDING DAY. Go Skateboard Day was started by ISAC which stands for International Association of Skateboard Companies. This group is run by some of the most respected people in the skate industry. Go Skateboarding Day is a day for YOU to get together with your friends and skate. How this is like the X-Games is beyond me. Just wait until you see the turnout at Love Park. It’s gonna be insane.

hes right...and it sucks. go skateboarding day is really lame.the first time i heard it i thought it was a joke, then i figured it was going to go away like 88 footwear but then suddenly i saw being linked to companys i thought were cool. is skateboarding really this lame? we have kids like that terry kennedy guy being shot because of drugs, 90% of skating is fashion trends (it was in the old days but now its just out of control) and we are losing real companies faster than we can gain them (plan b with syndrome and ipath selling out and being found in walmart) just the other day i walked past sport mart on the way to the store and saw a pair of koston 1's in there. hold onto what we got because its almost gone boys.

Koston is no more in Royal team. He skates now to Venture Trucks. I've never seen Koston skating with Thunders.

It's funny because it's the people who are trying to keep skating a sacred livelihood which the public cannot look at and say I respect it are most likely the people who quit skating. They want to be different that much that they skate to fulfill there part in life when really there millions of us fuckers skating and nothing in this world is sacred and unique after all like confucious the great chinese philosopher says we are all one family and we shouldn't segregate ourselves we should have things that bond us together are people really bad people if they are rocking ES shoes and they aren't wearing them out on grip. Who the fuck says at the shop "Woo you can't buy them unless you skate in them" noone -exactly. ES are a buisness they are also lovers of skateboarding, they want it to grow commercially so that primarily ( i hope) they spread the love of skating and give kids good products and probably secondly to make money. So I hope a lot of you guys realise that ES have humans behind it like you and me, they aren't bad guys trying to make skating "gay" they are trying to give it a respectable name. If I were to ride for the éS team (I'm not sending a tape.) and become an Flow or an AM, would I get to pick the shoes I want to wear, or does éS just send out random pairs out to the riders?

Dudes, every day is Skateboarding Day but this event was put together by skateboarders to help promote skateboarding on a bigger level. I know that skateboarding becoming popular can be a scary thought but at the same time it can do a lot of good. More attention to skateboarding brought on by actuall skateboarders means we'll have more of say when skateparks get built instead of some non-skater, your local shop can just sell skate goods and still stay in business, your local government won't be so fast to ban it in your town and the list can go on and on. Go Skateboarding Day is just to let the world know that skateboarders own and run skateboarding..not the big soft drink companies, not the big extreme fire hoop jumping contest promoters...just skateboarders. Make some noise and take control of what you love...skateboarding. Wow, talk about going off on a tangent.

Alex- I wanted to show the k6.5 but Eric wanted to add some more tweaks before we started showing it. The shoe is a mid/high with some real nice leather so that means it'll cost a bit more. Eric has been skating in them but you might end up just chilling in them cause they look bad ass. The new Tx is so bad ass looking but that shit doesn't drop until Spring. If you all really want to see it maybe I'll put up a pic.
Yo, ed get your local shop and rally the other skaters to get a good park. The best example of people getting together is that Louisville park. Skaters had so much to do with that park..that's why that shit is dope. Also, that Kettering Park in Ohio is a good example of a real street plaza that was made a reality by a skater and some major company involvement. If your local gov' doesn't want to do it make your own spots and say fuck the system.

As I sit here at work reading this banter of ridiculous contemplation on "Go skateboarding day" I can only come to one viable conclusion. Those that are for it are generally those who have been in it a while, and understand that change is inevitable. We must welcome change in all aspects, because it is something that allows for progress in a growing society. I love skateboarding, and I have been doing it for a long time. I find myself just as excited to be on my board today, as I was the very first day I rode. If we lose sight of the big picture, and close our minds to the possiblities of advancement we will inevitably be in a state of complacency. Let us rejoice for such a holiday as "Go Skateboarding Day", and forever support our wonderful sport. If you are opposed to go skateboarding day, then I say take the day off and protest. We would rather not have to deal with drama on a wonderful day like "GO SKATEBOARDING DAY". Thank you for allowing me to vent. In the words of the great Ronnie Creager "Happy Skateboarding"
