this is my new years resolution: to wake the stereotype skaters up! who the fuck wants to see a part where a guy rails down 10 stair handrails and flips down 12 stairs? so boring. and it doesn’t even make you want to go skate. take a look at louie barletta. hes got a magnificent (spelling?) part in the osiris vid and does amazing things that i didn’t even imagine to be possible. but then lets take some random up-and-coming kid who doesn’t even know about anything else but handrails and stairs. who caresif hes got balls to throw down only hammers and such? i respect those who really are skilled and have imagination to push skateboarding forwards, not them who copy everyone else. amen.

Handrails and stair sets are just obstacles. Personally, I myself like to skate flat ground occasionally, and a few ledges and gaps here and there. If you look at someone like Eric Koston, he skates everything, litterally. Rails, stairs, ledges, banks, pools, vert, everything. So, the next time you watch Yeah Right! or Menikmati, pay close attention to his part, because if he can do it then surely most of us can as well. Don’t hesitate, hesitation is what get’s you hurt, it’s full speed ahead. Go skate.
