skatefamous: Did your parents ever ground you from skating for a day or a weekend? Mine do, and it’s always one of the most boring days.
Yes, once or twice. Then I figured if I quit doing the things that got me grounded, I got more freedom.

Halvorson: Are you good friends with Joe Castrucci?
If I ever get married, Joe will be the best man.

Halvorson: What’s your favorite éS shoe that’s not one of your pro shoes?
I like Justin’s shoe, the Theory.

Jake: Do you think you’ll ever design another cupsole like your first shoe?
If they give me another shoe, it just might be a cupsole.

skatefamous: What do you think about a 13-year-old running a skateboard business? Do you think I should leave it to the older people, or is it cool that I’m so young and I sell people skateboards? By the way, it’s called Skate Famous.
Nice plug. I think it’s cool that you’re doing your own thing at such a young age, but don’t let it get in the way of being a kid. Save the stress for adulthood!

Norwalk SK8!: Was there a time in your life when you didn’t want to skate anymore?
There have been a few times where I wanted to put the board down, but not permanently. I can’t go three or four days without wanting to skate.

nollie564: Have you ever pushed really fast across Manhattan before?
I’m from Southern California. I didn’t think we were capable of pushing around a metropolitan area.

Ethan.madrid: Do thinner shoes give a better flick than thicker shoes?
Yes, because they’re more flexible. I have a better chance of doing a kickflip with my feet in socks than a block of concrete.

Plan B_09: How do you feel about The Life of Ryan?
I don’t know how to feel about that show, or even Mr. Sheckler, for that matter. I will say that he has a lot of people watching his show, and if he thinks he’s representing skateboarding and bringing skateboarding to people who would never have discovered it otherwise, then more power to him. But, he’s representing skateboarding the same way Vanilla Ice represented rap.

Geordi: What are your top three favorite skate videos?
It’s hard to give you a top three, but I’ll give you three good ones. Eastern Exposure, Mouse, and for randomness, New Deal’s Children of the Sun.

Jjco_1: Do you skate loose or tight trucks?
Both. I’m not afraid to adjust my trucks to whatever I’m skating.
