On a 1 to 10 scale, Justin Eldridge is turned up to 11. His style is so solid and clean, his tricks so top-notch, his legendary switch skills so effortless, he is at a completely different level. For instance, in the Chocolate segment of Girl's Yeah Right video, Justin begins his part by snapping his finger out of place trying to crooked grind a bench. He then pulls up his hand for the video camera, grabs the offending finger and just slides it back into place, giving a little groan and a “Let’s keep skating,” in the process.
Justin owns a whole library of new tricks that a lot of pros are going to have a hard time keeping up with. For instance, one of his last tricks in Yeah Right is a switch flip salad grind down LA High’s notorious rail, which is a really tall and long rail to be doing switch flip anything onto. It’s safe to say Justin has come up. Before the Girl video, a lot of kids didn’t know who he was, but now the general populace not only understands who Justin Eldridge is, they also think the same thing we do–that he’s leading skateboarding into the future.
Justin has a strong, happy and outgoing personality. He fits perfectly on the éS team. He is not one to get too angry if he can’t land a trick first try. He usually hides a lot of his frustration and directs all of his angry energy toward his board so that he lands a trick within two or three tries, then skates away happy. Another thing that makes Justin stand out from the crowd is that he is really humble. He will never admit that he’s better than most kids out there, even though he is.
Originally from Saugus, California, Justin started skating in ninth grade on a Christmas board at the local fun box and flat bar. These days, he loves skating with Eric Koston, going out filming street with éS filmer Scuba Steve and Curtis, and riding mini-ramps on the side–all while donning his very own éS Theory pro model shoe, backed up by underground hip-hop like Living Legends.
Justin’s career highlights so far have been traveling and meeting a bunch of new people. “Traveling is the best. It’s the funnest part of skateboarding, when you get to skate so many different places.” Turning pro for Chocolate would also have to figure in there somewhere, for sure. His future goals include just skating, having fun and “not getting caught up in all of the drama.” It’s safe to say that Justin Eldridge has arrived and has a long career in skateboarding ahead of him.
